Henning Stanger is a licensed Norwegian accountant — an autorisert regnskapsfører, the title regulated and granted by the Financial Supervisory Authority of Norway (Finanstilsynet). He writes and personally verifies the cross-border tax data published on Tax Atlas.

Why Tax Atlas

Most cross-border tax content online is either an anonymous calculator with no credentials or a content farm with no tools — and almost all of it flattens the “183-day rule” into something universal that it is not. Tax Atlas exists to fix that: every quantitative claim is a database record with its source and the date it was last verified, and the free tools run entirely in your browser with no account and no email wall.

How the data is verified

Facts are drawn from primary sources — national tax authorities, the OECD, and the major professional tax summaries — and each one is checked and signed off before it is published. The verification date shown on every fact is a real commitment, not decoration: nothing is marked fresh unless it was actually re-checked. The full method is documented on the methodology page.

Scope and limits

The authorization is Norwegian. Tax Atlas is educational reference for a global audience — it is not tax advice, and not a substitute for advice licensed in your own jurisdiction. For an actual filing, talk to a local advisor.
